A national charity venture which aims to help many of the country’s most vulnerable families is being given a helping hand by two-person delivery specialist Panther Logistics.
Panther, which serves out of a national network of nine depots, has stepped in to donate time, manpower and transport to the scheme in which long-standing customer Happy Beds is supporting national charity Home-Start UK.
As part of the three-way partnership, Happy Beds is donating beds, mattresses and bedroom furniture to help families being helped by Home-Start UK.
The initiative has hit the ground running with deliveries being sent to 30 families across the length and breadth of the country to the value of £14,000 worth of furniture. The plan is that Panther will make 15 deliveries per week, or 800 deliveries a year, to locations across the UK in support of the venture.
One of the Local Home-Starts to benefit was Home-Start Glasgow South who welcomed this generous donation. Lynn Simpson, Family Support Co-Ordinator from the Glasgow South said:
“Thank you so much for supporting Home Start, this really helps some of our families at a time where so many are struggling with the cost of living.”
The families will also be benefiting from the entire raft of services which make up the standard Panther offering. Features such as advance notification of delivery times, delivery to the customer’s room of choice, and removal of packaging mean the goods will be in place and ready to use with immediate effect.
Kirsty Railton, Customer Experience Director of Panther, said the scheme was a perfect fit with Panther’s own CSR policy which seeks to help improve life in its local communities across the UK. She said:
“We have enjoyed an excellent relationship with Happy Beds for more than five years so when they told us of their new venture with Home-Start we were of course really keen to get involved.
or at least would have had to wait a lot longer for one.“The scheme will benefit many hundreds of families across the UK who otherwise might not be able to afford a new bed,
“We know this will make a positive difference to the lives of thousands of adults and children in need of a little bit of extra help and we are delighted to lend our skills and expertise to help bring the scheme to fruition!”
Lucy Bolland, Marketing and Brand Manager at Happy Beds said:
“We’re really excited to have Panther on board to manage the logistics of our charity partnership with Home-Start UK! With their help on the logistics and delivery side, we can make sure families across the UK who are in need get to have a good night’s sleep in one of our Happy Beds.”
